AMU : Trial held for the membership of Hiking and Mountaineering Club

VPLNEWS, ALIGARH, October 8: More than 350 students of the Aligarh Muslim University today underwent a free trial for the membership of the Hiking and Mountaineering Club, for the year 2017-18. The trial was held at the Athletics’ Ground of the University by the Club which functions under the University Games Committee. The participants included 115 girl students belonging to different departments and courses.
The University Games Committee Secretary, Prof. Syed Amjad Ali Rizvi flagged off the cross-country run, in presence of presidents of various clubs of the Games Committee. Later, a few other qualifying events were also organized for the participants, which tested them for strength and endurance skills.
On this occasion, Prof. Amjad Ali Rizvi gave away certificates to the participants of last year’s Adventure Course (Girls).
Dr. Khurram, President of the Club supervised the events. He said that the short-listed candidates will be provided with extensive training by the coach, Mr. Shahab Khan. One batch each of boys and girls will be sent for an Adventure Course in Mountaineering, he added.
The coaches associated with different sports extended their cooperation in the selection process.
