AMU students selected for SSESA scholarship

VPLNEWS, ALIGARH August 11: The Aligarh Alumni Association of New England (AAANE), Boston, USA, under its ambitious Sir Syed Excellence in Science Award (SSESA), a prestigious scholarship and mentoring programme, conducted online interview of the students of the Aligarh Muslim University belonging to different departments of studies at AMU Alumni Affairs Office.
The students who have been selected for the SSESA Scholarship for the session 2017-2018, include Anupriya Goyal (B.Tech. Computer), Somya Agarwal (B. ech. Computer), Areeb Mahmood (B.Tech. Mechanical), Syed Mustafa Saleem (B.Tech. Civil), Shashank Kumar Garg (B.Tech. Electronics), M. Farhan Akhtar (B. Tech. Civil), Aman Agarwal (B.Tech. Mech.), Junaid Ahmad Pandith (M. Tech. Agriculture), Sobia Abdin (MA English), Musfar Mohamed K (M.Sc. Physics), Maha Mohammed Khan (B. Tech. Computer) and Mohammad Hassan (B. Tech. Mech.).
Dr. Syed Masarrat Ali and Dr. Noman Siddiqi of Aligarh Alumni Association of New England led the selection panel.
The Sir Syed Excellence in Science Award (SSESA) is a merit-based scholarship awarded to academically outstanding students of Aligarh Muslim University. It provides mentorship and financial support to the students preparing for entrance examinations such as GRE, TOEFL. The selected students are provided with the application fees for admission to the universities around the globe. AMU students from various departments are shortlisted for interview based on their performance in academics and written test.
Mr. Saad Hameed, Training and Placement Officer of AMU, who is also the coordinator of SSESA selection process, told that Ms. Ayesha Khan from Chemical Engineering Department will join the Technical University of Dortmund while Ayush Mittal from Mechanical Engineering Department will join the RWTH University, Germany.
