AMU: National Workshop on CBCT in Implant Dentistry inaugurated at JNMC

Vplnews, Aligarh, October 9: Inauguration Ceremony of National Workshop Cum Hands on course on the theme “Cone beam Computed Tomography in Implant Dentistry” was held at JN Medical College Auditorium, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The workshop focus was on `How to read CBCT Scan and Implant Planning with CBCT`.
The workshop was organized by Department of Oral Pathology/Oral Medicine and Radiology, Dr. ZA Dental College & Hospital in association with IDA Aligarh & Care-stream Dental India Pvt. Ltd.
The Chief Guest on the occasion Prof Tariq Mansoor (Vice Chancellor, AMU), expressed confidence that the workshop will strive to equip the participants to broaden their knowledge of diagnostic radiology. He added that CBCT will surely offer a huge therapeutic potential, related to surgical guides and further prosthetic rehabilitation.
Greeting the participants and organizers Prof Mansoor said, this workshop is a platform for exchange of information in this constantly advancing field and will provide an overview of the advancement which will benefit the participants immensely.
The Guest of Honour Prof MH Beg (Pro-Vice Chancellor, AMU) said that Oral Pathology/ Oral Medicine is considered a dental specialty but it is much more complex and this dynamic field is in constant state of improvement . It presents many opportunities for learners with hands on experience with latest technology and innovation.
Prof SC Sharma (Dean & Principal JN Medical College, AMU), expressing pleasure said that knowledge and expertise are two most powerful component of a clinician. Oral and maxillogical imaging has a pivotal role in the correct diagnosis and management of dental patient. The hands-on workshop will in turn provide a real time simulation to all the participants, he added.
Prof RK Tiwari (Principal Dr. ZA Dental College, AMU), lauded the efforts of dental college team for conducting fruitful academic activities. He said guests get mesmerised by AMU’s unique culture and tradition and showed confidence that delegates will get enriched from the workshop.
The Chairman Dr. Kauser J Khawaja, emphasized that CBCT and dental implants are trending fields in Dentistry with CBCT playing an important role in assessment of patients , planning and placement of implants.
Souvenir edited by Dr. Nasir A Salati was also released on the occasion.
Organizing secretary Dr. Anshul Agarwal, while paying vote of thanks, briefed that CBCT is the need of the hour and has created the revolution in the field of oral and maxillofacial region. He gave a brief introduction about Guest Speaker Dr. Madhav Nagpal , who had set-up his own stand alone CBCT in Delhi and NCR . Dr. Neha Agarwal conducted the programme.
