63 University/College teachers join the SRC Women’s Studies at the UGC HRDC AMU

Vplnews, Aligarh, August 12: The Subject Refresher Course in Women’s Studies was inaugurated at the UGC Human Resource Development Centre, AMU today. 63 University /College teachers have enrolled for this course. These course participants are from several districts of UP in the catchment area of the UGC HRDC, AMU. AMU Assistant Professors from a variety of disciplines will attend this inter disciplinary course.
Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director UGC Human Resource Development Centre, AMU said that these courses give a golden opportunity to enhance cross cultural interactions. He said that our country cannot progress in real terms unless there is social cohesion between communities. He also said that by observing the teaching styles of the resource persons the newly appointed lecturers will improve their academic performance.
Professor Nighat Ahmed Director, Centre for Women’s Studies, AMU was present on the occasion.
Professor Azra Musavi, Centre for Women’s Studies, AMU is the Course Coordinator of this Subject Refresher Course.
Dr Faiza Abbasi, Asst. Director, UGC HRDC, AMU Welcomed the participants and the guests. She said that in this course some educational visits, home visits and co curricular activities will be organized. She informed that eminent resource persons from academia, media and civil society will be engaging sessions.
